The Las Vegas Strip at night, neon and resort facades lining the boulevard
May 19–21, 2026 (Side Week starts Mon May 18) · MGM Grand Conference Center

MAU Vegas 2026

Mobile growth's biggest week — and the 112 Side Week events around it.

Built for: Mobile growth: performance marketers, product managers, engineers, data, creative. Companies range from Meta / Google / TikTok / Airbnb / EA scale down to indie founders raising on Side Week dinner tables.

The week, distilled

MAU Vegas 2026 runs May 19–21 at the MGM Grand — three days of mobile-industry programming buffered by pool season, 112 Side Week events Mon–Thu, and (if you give it a day) the most cinematic desert within an hour of the Strip.

MAU Vegas is two cities pressed together. By 8 AM the Strip is a conference town — black badges, espresso queues at Bouchon, glass-walled meeting rooms. By 9 PM it's the Vegas you remember from college: rooftops, residencies, a $400 dinner that bleeds into a $30 Lyft. The week works best when you stop fighting the schizophrenia and lean into both modes.

The Side Week calendar is the under-told half. 112 events on the official Luma Mon–Thu — and Monday is where most attendees screw up. Monday May 18 is unofficially the highest-signal day of the week: Apps Legacy Gala, Prime Time @ Hakkasan (100 app leaders, one private room), Moloco's Mojave ranch retreat, Sip & Skyline. Fly in Sunday afternoon, you walk into the densest networking of the week.

Tuesday is breakfasts + run club + the 5 PM Opening Party plus 25+ Tuesday dinners. Wednesday is the climax: 15+ private dinners 6–8 PM, Jonas Brothers at Dolby Live at 8 (co-hosted by RevX / StackAdapt / InMobi, some tiers sold out), then MAU or Nowhere late-night. Thursday wraps with the Closing Party, Victory Lap, Bidease's No Doubt Live, and Capital Partners Dinner.

Vdara / Waldorf Astoria

Strip-nearby

Quieter non-gaming options. Vdara is the no-casino tower attached to Aria; Waldorf Astoria sits at the south end of CityCenter. Better sleep if you're trying to do MAU on jet lag.

Plaza / Circa (Downtown)

Off-Strip

$150-200/night when the Strip is $500+. Trade-off: $25+ Lyft each way. Worth it if you're a Fremont East regular or want a cheaper room and don't mind the commute.

Pre- and post-conference escapes

Red Rock Canyon sandstone formations and Mojave desert vegetation

Red Rock Canyon (scenic loop)

30 min west of the Strip. 13-mile scenic drive + 1–2 short hikes (Calico I, Pine Creek). Sandstone glowing red at 7 AM. Lyft each way $45; you're back for sessions by 9:15 AM.

Hoover Dam — historic Ansel Adams photograph from the National Archives

Hoover Dam

45 min SE. Walk the dam crown, descend 500 ft for the power plant tour ($30). Most tours pick up from Strip hotels. Combine with Lake Mead overlooks on the way back.

Valley of Fire State Park red sandstone formations

Valley of Fire State Park

55 miles NE — Nevada's oldest state park. Less crowded than Red Rock, more dramatic geology. Rent a car or take a tour. Best with golden-hour timing.

Grand Canyon West Rim panorama

Grand Canyon West (Hualapai)

2.5-hour drive each way. The closer rim — has the glass Skywalk and Eagle Point views. Less grand than the South Rim but the only feasible day-trip rim from Vegas. Bidease runs a helicopter version (Limited Spots, all 4 days).

The Mob Museum housed in the former federal courthouse, downtown Las Vegas

Mob Museum

Downtown, ~15 min Lyft from MGM Grand. 1933 federal courthouse retelling organized crime in America. The basement speakeasy is its own experience. Pair with Container Park walk + Fremont Street Experience.

Restored vintage neon signs at the Neon Museum Boneyard, Las Vegas

Neon Museum (Boneyard)

Outdoor field of restored neon signs from old casinos. Book the after-sunset session for the lit-up photos — daytime tours don't compare. Downtown, near the Mob Museum.

Fremont Street Experience LED canopy at night, downtown Las Vegas

Fremont Street Experience

Downtown's 5-block pedestrian mall under a giant LED canopy. The closest thing to 'real Vegas' if you've only ever seen the Strip. Container Park sits at the east end.

Questions visitors ask

When is MAU Vegas 2026?

Tuesday May 19 through Thursday May 21, 2026 at the MGM Grand Conference Center. Side Week starts Monday May 18 — and the unofficial Side Week is denser than people expect. Sunday-PM arrivals + Friday-AM departures is the recommended shape.

Where do I register?

mauvegas.com/register. Conference passes range from expo-only to Clubhouse VIP. Some Side Week events (Bidease Limited Spots, Founders Clubs, Sensor Tower / Google Ads / AppsFlyer Prime Time, Moloco ranch retreat) require a separate RSVP per event — most via the embedded Luma calendar.

How do the Side Week events work?

All 112 events are listed on the official Luma calendar (cal-xmKYooSKp6wJrIQ) embedded across the mauvegas.com Side Week pages. Each event has its own RSVP link — luma.com short code or a sponsor-hosted landing page. Most are free if you're attending MAU; some Limited-Spots adventures (Bidease's Grand Canyon helicopter, Desert Supercar Run) charge a fee. Status flags (Waitlist / Sold Out / Near Capacity) change rapidly — check each link.

What's the must-RSVP fast list?

Mon: Apps Legacy Gala, Prime Time @ Hakkasan, Moloco's Mojave ranch retreat. Tue: MAU Run Club, Power Breakfast, Bidease's Tue dinners at Zaytinya / Partage / é. Wed: Jonas Brothers tiers (RevX / StackAdapt / InMobi all have allocations — some sold out 4+ weeks ahead), MAU or Nowhere late-night, Bidease's Restaurant Guy Savoy dinner, App Founders Dinner, the outliers dinner, Aperture Sessions. Thu: Women in Leader(sip), Capital Partners Dinner. Adventure slots (Bidease's Grand Canyon helicopter / Desert Supercar Run / Allegiant Stadium / Spa) — all Limited Spots, book early.

How early should I arrive?

Sunday afternoon at the latest. Monday May 18 is the unofficially most-valuable day — Apps Legacy Gala 7:30 PM, Prime Time @ Hakkasan 6 PM (Sensor Tower + Google Ads + AppsFlyer 100-leader private room), Moloco's Mojave ranch retreat 2 PM for senior leaders. EDC (May 15–17) means Saturday or earlier arrivals walk into peak-summer chaos. Sunday post-3 PM is the sweet spot.

Where should I stay?

MGM Grand (Conference HQ — your badge is your room key) is the easiest. Park MGM / NoMad next door is the upgraded aesthetic + walking distance to Dolby Live for Wed's Jonas Brothers. Aria is the cleanest design, 5 min walk, Carbone in-house. Cosmopolitan is the marquee Strip-nearby option, ~10 min walk. Downtown (Plaza / Circa) is $150+/night cheaper but adds $25 Lyft each way.

Can I do day trips during the conference?

With discipline. Red Rock Canyon (30 min) or Valley of Fire (1 hr) fit a 6–9 AM window before keynote. Hoover Dam (45 min) needs a half-day — only Friday post-conference. Grand Canyon West (2.5 hr each way) is a full day, only viable Thursday or Friday onward. Bidease runs a Grand Canyon helicopter tour as a same-day option throughout — Limited Spots.

What about EDC weekend (May 15–17)?

Electric Daisy Carnival brings 400,000+ people to Las Vegas Motor Speedway the weekend before MAU. Strip hotels spike to summer-peak prices Thu–Sun, Lyft surge is constant, restaurants double-booked. Don't extend backward into EDC weekend unless you actually want to do EDC — the overlap is more stress than fun. Sunday afternoon, EDC's checkout wave has cleared.

How early do I need to book hotels?

Three months minimum. MAU + EDC overlap pushes the entire Strip to capacity. The MGM Grand conference block sells out 6+ weeks ahead; Park MGM / Aria / NoMad fill 4 weeks ahead. After mid-April you're paying $700+/night for anything walkable to the venue. Downtown stays open longest but adds $50/night in Lyft costs.

What should I pack?

Conference layer (jacket — ballrooms run cold). Light pants + button-down or equivalent for dinners. Swimsuit for the pool. Comfortable shoes (Strip walking is more than the map suggests). Sunglasses + sunscreen for the day-trip mornings. Reusable water bottle. 10,000+ mAh battery pack. Conference badge protector. The dress code is smart-casual; outright suits are rare.

Vegas in May — what's the weather actually like?

Highs 85–94°F (29–34°C), lows 60s, almost zero rain. Pool season opens. Outdoor anything (Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam) needs an early-morning or post-5 PM window. Indoor conference floor is over-AC'd to ~68°F — bring a layer.

Vegas vs other US conference cities — what's different?

Vegas is the only US conference city where after-hours infrastructure is literally engineered for it. Austin (SXSW) and Miami (Art Basel) require finding venues; Vegas has them on every casino floor. The trade-off: less sense of place, no local culture you walk into casually. If you want a city that feels like a city, leave the Strip — the Arts District (Esther's Kitchen, Velveteen Rabbit) is a 15-min Lyft. If you want conference + after-hours efficiency engineered for you, Vegas is unmatched.
